First Aid

Through the Air Training Corps you have the opportunity to learn the various aspects of first aid.

Heartstart

Everyone is taught 'Heart Start' which is backed by the British Heart Foundation. This covers basic CPR and the recovery position as well as choking and cuts. This will be taught locally on the squadron.

Youth First Aid

This will be taught locally on the squadron. Following Heartstart cadets can then move on to more advanced qualifications such as 'Youth First Aid' which covers First Aid in greater details.

Activity First Aid

If you are over 16 you can also do an activity first aid at work course over a weekend, which which is equivalent to the 'First Aid At Work' syllabus and provides comprehensive first aid training.

Instructor First Aid

Finally, you will be able to complete an instructor First Aid course which enables them to train and assess Youth First Aid courses for younger cadets.

First Aid is a life skill, that cadets can take with them forever, and to be able to act should a situation arise. First Aid qualifications also adds value to an individuals CV.
